Master of puppets was originally released on march 3rd 1986 on elektra records and went on to become the first metallica album to be certified platinum by the riaa. Newly remastered with live takes and demos the album s riffs power and mania remain as potent as ever. This album was originally released in the 80 s. The crest of a growth curve that saw metallica first cement the nascent thrash genre before expanding it in dizzyingly complex and unexpectedly commercial ways the band s third lp expanded the range and ambition.

Plus it s a 180 gram record great quality. With that said this album rocks. The number of metal albums as thoroughly universally canonized as master of puppets could be counted on one hand even if you sliced a few fingertips off in an industrial accident. The album has been certified 6x platinum in the united states and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.

This review is only for the remastered 3 cd version focusing on whether or not you should buy this one. This album in my opinion is one of the greatest albums of all time and is easily a 5 star album.
