Oil levels are always measured with the stanchion and dampers fully compressed and with coil springs and spacers removed where applicable and is the air gap between the top of the stanchion to the surface of the oil. Using oil levels is the most accurate way of measuring the volume of oil inside a fork. This service is being done on a z150 fork but the z1s are very similar as are some other marzocchi forks.
